Shared 3-Day Desert Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga - Itinerary:

DAY 1

Marrakech → Ait Benhaddou → Ouarzazate → Dades Valley

For our shared small-group Merzouga 3-day, 2-night desert tour, our friendly driver will pick you up from your hotel in Marrakech at 7:30 AM. We depart Marrakech, venturing through the magnificent Atlas Mountains and the Tichka Pass (2260 m), offering impressive landscapes in the heart of the Atlas Mountain range. We'll stop in Ouarzazate, famous for movies like *Alexander the Great*, *The Mummy*, *The Jewel of the Nile*, and *Kingdom of Heaven*. The scenery here is absolutely stunning.

Next, we visit Ait Benhaddou, one of Morocco's most spectacular kasbahs and a UNESCO World Heritage site. After lunch in Ait Benhaddou, we continue to Ouarzazate, known as "The Hollywood of Africa". Then, we head to the Valley of Roses, famous for its annual rose harvest festival in May. We’ll spend the night with dinner in Dades Valley at an auberge featuring traditional Berber architecture and views of the mountains and valley.

DAY 2

Dades Valley → Todra Gorge → Merzouga

After breakfast, we drive toward the Todra Gorges, a popular spot for rock climbers. After a walk through the Gorges, we continue on ancient Bedouin trading routes, passing a series of fortified villages with remarkable pre-Saharan architecture. The route to Erfoud is one of the most scenic of all Southern routes. Erfoud is known for its rich black fossil marble, sculpted into various objects like ashtrays and washbasins.

Next, we head to the spectacular Merzouga dunes, marking the beginning of the mighty Sahara Desert. We leave the vehicle and embark on a 90-minute camel ride into the desert. At the Sahara Stars Camp or Ideal Luxury Camp, we watch the sunset and spend the night in a well-equipped luxury tent with en-suite bathrooms. After dinner, we gather around the fire and enjoy traditional Berber music with live drums and chants.

DAY 3

Merzouga → Rose Valley → Ouarzazate → Marrakech

On the final day, we wake up early to enjoy a breathtaking sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes, followed by breakfast. Afterward, we take a camel trek back to the Auberge. We then journey back to Marrakech, making a few stops along the way. After lunch, we continue through the Tizi N’Tichka Pass (2260 meters altitude) in the High Atlas Mountains. Upon arrival in Marrakech, you'll be dropped off at your accommodation, completing the unforgettable desert adventure.
